The Beach is NOW open

BOW WOW BEACH LAKE WATER TREATMENT

The lake water at Bow Wow Beach is currently undergoing treatment for Planktonic Algae Bloom, which at this time is considered NOT harmful.

The company AQUA DOC has been contracted by the City of Stow to implement the lake water treatment.Aqua Doc is a full service lake and pond management  company that has been in business for over twenty-five years. Their expertise and focus is aquatic algae and weed control.

Over the coming weeks, Bow Wow Beach may be closed periodically while lake water treatment is being administered. For updates, visit this website or contact Stow Parks and Recreation at 330.689.5100.

Stow's dog park offically opened in June 2007, and has been well received by residents of Stow and the surrounding area. The 7.5 acre fenced in park features the following amenities:

Bow Wow Beach

  • Sandy beach and grassy knolls
  • 3-acre lake
  • Pen entrances
  • Waste deposit stations
  • Dog washing station
  • Separate areas for small dogs
  • Clearly defined rules and procedures

Hours

Bow Wow Beach is open everday during the season from 8:00 AM until dusk.

Maintenance

Bow Wow Beach is CLOSED every Thursday morning during the season from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM for weekly park maintenance.

                      Dog DonationsDonations

Bow Wow Beach is owned and operated by the City of Stow.  Donations are gratefully accepted.  Donations will be collected at the park by Parks and Recreation staff on a daily basis from the new secure donation station.  The City funds ongoing costs for the dog park including: fencing and fence maintenance, waste bag supply,lake water testing, mowing and weed control, trash collection, beach clean up, utilities, etc.

Dog Licensing
Licensing your dog is required by Ohio law. The City of Stow requires that dogs be licensed to attend Bow Wow Beach. To obtain a dog license in Summit County, contact the Summit County Fiscal Office - Services Division at 330.630.7226 or visit the Summit County website.
